Big Ol' Spider, Pansy and Socks

Does anyone know what this spider is? He came from outside, telling me I have to see 'this', and pulling me back out while grabbing a flyswatter. (snicker) The flyswatter would of not been big enough or hard enough if he had dispatched this one. The spider was hanging off the carport. We watched this big-butted spider slowly work her way down to the gravel. The photos are below. It was hard to get clear photos. I was not willing to get too close and she was swinging and twirling her way down. Spiders outside, they live (if not poisonous); Spider inside, spider atoms.

It was not poisonous (I think).

Below is a new pretty pansy to work the creepies off.

I frogged the old sock and cast on using the Twisted German Cast-On. I only had time to do two rows of ribbing before He emerged from the dentist chair. I will get to the sock later tonight and again tomorrow when He goes back for round 2 at the dentist's. He likes this new guy. That is surprising.
A loaf of bread is baking. We had Irish oatmeal with apples and cinnamon. We will be eating 'soft' for a while.

  1. No clue as to your spider, except she looks as if she has a belly full o' babies and is looking for a place to lay the future spinners eggs before Fall sets, Winter takes over and she passes.

    Nice Pansy.

Dental stuff - ugh. Irish Soda Bread one of my favorites. Won a blue ribbon in 1971 at, what else?, The Big Fresno Fair!
